Strategy of Living Farms
Community Empowerment and Governance
- Facilitate participatory decision-making through Kutumbas (village assemblies) for self-governance.
- Encourage democratic participation at multiple levels: village, cluster, and zonal committees.
- Establish women’s/ adolescents/ youths councils within village communities to address
gender inequity and revive traditional healing practices.
Agroecological Farming & Seed Preservation
- Promote mixed cropping and traditional farming practices that align with local ecological
conditions. - Develop and expand community seed banks to preserve indigenous seeds.
- Encourage organic and chemical-free farming, focusing on locally available bio-inputs.
- Promote nutrition gardens and forest-based food sources for household food security.
Strengthening Local Food Systems
- Enhance producer-consumer networks to establish sustainable, local food economies.
- Reduce reliance on external markets through exchange, barter systems, and local
cooperatives. - Promote community food banks and shared food storage facilities
Addressing impact of climate change on food system
- Revive and promotion of climate resilient cropping practices
- Sustainable forest management

Improved health and nutrittion status of women, children and adolescent girls
- Improve dietary diversity through PLA- LANN (Participatory Learning and Action - Linking
Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Nutrition) - Advocacy on government programs realted to health and nutrition
- Develop training manuals and conduct capacity-building sessions for local communities and
stakeholders.
Capacity building of Community on food sovereignty and climate resilient sustainable
agriculture
- Build village level change agents on food security, health, nutrition and climate change
- Enable community to critically analyse the issues, prepare strategy and take action to
resolve the issues
Strengtheing Economic Resilience and Village Socialism
- Foster solidarity economies that prioritize shared community assets and collective well-
being. - Encourage local self-sufficiency through economic activities rooted in agroecology and
cooperative principles. - Minimize engagement with exploitative market forces and corporations that threaten
community autonomy.
Cultural Revitalization and Identity Preservation
- Support Adivasi communities in reclaiming their traditional agricultural and social structures.
- Organize cultural gatherings, food fairs, and intergenerational knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Promote youth engagement in cultural preservation and sustainable livelihoods.
Gender Equity and Social Inclusion
- Improve gender understanding among community members

Scaling Up and Advocacy
- Collaborate with government agencies, academic institutions, networks and grassroot
initiatives. - Technical resource agency for linking agriculture, natural resources, and nutrition.
- Advocate for policy changes that prioritize food sovereignty and ecological sustainability.
- Engage with national and international platforms to share knowledge and amplify impact.
