Living Farms believes that traditional knowledge and wisdom hold the key to sustainable living, cultural continuity and community resilience. This theme is rooted in the recognition that indigenous practices passed down through generations offer sustainable solutions to today’s challenges in food, health and ecology.
We facilitate intergenerational exchanges between elders and youth to ensure that valuable oral traditions, skills and worldviews are not lost. We focus on strengthening community institutions to enable community members to critically reflect over the various issues. Through farmer sharing workshops, communities come together to learn from one another’s experiences and innovations. We also engage in research and documentation to preserve and amplify traditional knowledge, validating it as both relevant and essential.
Our approach and perspective are shaped by these lived experiences and ancestral wisdom. We walk alongside communities, learning from their ways of knowing, not as the past, but as the foundation for a just and sustainable future.
